After a few years of continually renovating and repainting the old railway sleepers FOIRP felt it was time to provide better quality Raised Beds in front of the Hotel at Riverside Gardens
we raised funds by selling our own calendar, created by one of our volunteers, George Buckley, and sought support from local organisations. Both Ilkley Round Table and The Riverside Hotel came to our aid!
We have continued to improve the planting of the Raised Beds and the volunteers regularly keep them in trim, weeding and trimming the shrubs.
Our next stage will be to put a couple of circular Planters between the new beds and to remove the tables currently sited there. We have been brilliantly supported by local people through donations to our Co-op Community Fund Appeal. We hope this will complete successfully in November 2023 and funds will then be available to finish the job the way we intended.
